Dr. Chen holds a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from Columbia University.
Currently he is holding the position of the Head of Japan Development at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), leading an interdisciplinary organization including clinical and pre-clinical development, clinical operations and project management, where he oversees the Japan development strategy across GSK portfolio. Previously he served as the Global Head of Oncology Biostatistics, as well as the Interim Head of Asia (China/Japan) Development Biostatistics.
Prior to joining GSK, Dr. Chen held multiple leadership positions including the Global Head of Biostatistics, Clinical Pharmacology & Pharmacometrics at Bristol-Myers Squibb, as well as the Head of Biostatistics in Medical and Market Access across various therapeutic areas including oncology, immunotherapy, fibrosis and cardiovascular programs and was a member of senior R&D governance committees. He has extensive experience interacting with global regulatory authorities and has co-chaired multiple cross-industry statistical working groups. He previously held an adjunct faculty appointment in the Department of Biostatistics at Columbia University.
